PURPOSE- To find the density of a bronze cylinder
THEORY- Mass- the measure of the heaviness of an object/ density- the degree to which something is filled, crowded, or occupied/ volume-the magnitude of the three-dimensional space enclosed within or occupied by an object, geometric solid
EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUE- First we found the mass of the cylinder. We weighed the object and got the mass of 207.6g. After that we filled a graduated cylinder with 56.1 ml of water and dropped the object in. The amount of water displaced was 26.1 ml of water. So the volume of the object is 26.1 ml. After that we used the equation for density d=m/v. Finally we researched the densities of different materials and found that the object's density matched that of the material bronze.
